Jeffreys Bay Eastern Cape Sunshine Coast

Despite its many and varied attractions, a holiday at Jeffrey's Bay is ultimately all about being by the sea.

Known as one of the worlds premier surfing destinations,  Jeffreys Bay is also better known for its safe  blue flag beaches, beautiful shells and outstanding angling opportunities.

The annual international Billabong Surfing festival is held in July when perfect surfing conditions prevail, bringing international visitors from far and wide to this bustling Eastern Cape Coast town.

Avid shell collectors can be found searching for the ultimate shell for their collections from the endless stretches of pristine white beaches.  Take time out to visit the Shell Museum which houses an impressive collection of locally gathered shells in addition to shells gathered from other countries.

A number of small nature reserves in the area offer excellent hiking opportunities for the nature enthusiast and bird watcher.

The Kabeljous Estuary and Nature Reserve offers an ideal hiking trail of 3 to 7 kms in addition to safe beach swimming, angling and bird watching.

The 28.7 hectare Noorsekloof Nature Reserve is home to small buck and an abundant bird life along the 3km trail which runs alongside a stream.

Seekoei River Nature Reserve on the Seekoei River Estuary is a bird watchers paradise offering a 3 km hiking trail. Up to 120 different bird species have been identified in the reserve.
